Getting around Zagreb?
We’ll make it easy.
Trams, buses, funiculars, bikes, taxis and more — practical local tips to help you move around Zagreb with confidence.
ZET / TRAM TICKETS
Getting around Zagreb by tram or bus is easy.
Zagreb’s public transport network is operated by ZET. Trams are usually the easiest way to get around the city centre, with buses connecting areas beyond the tram network.
🎫 ZET TICKETS
For a short stay in Zagreb, individual tickets are usually the simplest option.
| Ticket | Valid for | Price* |
|---|---|---|
| 30-minute ticket | 30 min | €0.53 |
| 60-minute ticket | 60 min | €0.93 |
| 90-minute ticket | 90 min | €1.33 |
| Night ticket | Night service | €1.99 |
| Daily ticket | All-day travel | €3.98 |
*Prices shown are for tickets purchased at ZET sales points / authorised outlets. Tickets purchased from the driver can cost more.
Good to know: A ticket bought from the driver is currently €0.80 for 30 minutes, €1.33 for 60 minutes and €1.99 for 90 minutes.
📍 WHICH ZONE?
Zagreb city = Zone 1
The entire administrative area of the City of Zagreb is Zone 1 for ZET tickets. Tram services operate exclusively within Zone 1.
If you are staying in central Zagreb and visiting the main sights, you normally don't need to worry about zones.
Some ZET bus routes continue outside Zagreb into neighbouring towns and municipalities. For those journeys, additional tariff zones may apply.
🎫 Which ticket do I need?
For most visitors, a single-ride ticket is the simplest choice.
You can buy tickets through the MojZET app or at designated sales points.
Tip from Locallo: If you're only making a few short journeys, don't overthink it — a single ticket is often all you need.
Don't forget to validate your ticket.
Having a ticket and having a valid ticket are not quite the same thing. Make sure your ticket is activated/validated before or when you start your journey.
📱 MojZET
Buy your ticket on your phone and activate it when you board.

🚋 WHAT ABOUT THE FUNICULAR?
Yes — the famous Zagreb Funicular is part of the ZET system.
A one-way funicular ticket costs €0.66. Daily and multi-day ZET tickets are also valid on the funicular.
Funicular: Lower Town ↔ Upper Town
Journey: about 1 minute
Frequency: approximately every 10 minutes
💡 LOCALLO TIP
Don't make public transport harder than it is.
For most visitors staying in central Zagreb:
Tram + a simple individual ticket + MojZET = all you need.
And if you're heading to the Upper Town, don't miss the funicular — it's one of Zagreb's little experiences, not just a way of getting from A to B.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Download the app
Register with the Nextbike app and activate your account.
2. Find a bike
Use the app to find available Bajs bikes and stations.
3. Scan & ride

💶 HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Pay As You Go
€0.50 / 30 min
For occasional rides, this is the simplest option.
Monthly subscription
€5 / month
Unlimited rides of up to 30 minutes, with at least 20 minutes between free rides.
Annual subscription
€30 / year
The same 30-minute free-ride principle, for frequent users.
There is also a €10 account activation fee, which is converted into riding credit in the app.
⚠️ ONE IMPORTANT THING
Always return your Bajs to an official station.
Returning a bike outside an official station can result in a €30 fee. The same €30 fee can apply if you fail to properly lock and end the rental.
LOCALLO TIP
Bajs is great for short trips around Zagreb.
If your destination is only a few kilometres away, a shared bike can be quicker and more enjoyable than waiting for public transport — especially on a sunny day.
